Description:  Despite the Captain's initial reservations the Mirai rescues an Imperial Japanese Navy officer, Lt. Commander Kusaka, from a sinking seaplane. As such the crew is split over the fact that they may have irrevocably changed history. The Mirai is then discovered by an American submarine, USS Guardfish.
