In the next scene back at the village, Harmony sounds his trumpet to gather the Smurfs for an announcement that Papa Smurf has before he discovers that Smurfette is missing moments before she returns to the village, Harmony's left arm disappears when he moves his head up while blowing his trumpet and his arm reappears when his head moves down. Goof: Among the gifts the Smurfs gave to Clumsy so to persuade him to use his special rock to tell their future, one is a pumpkin. However, pumpkins were unknown in Europe until they were imported from the Americas in the 17th century. The background of the Smurf cartoon series is the late Middle Ages (circa 14th-15th century), early for the appearance of pumpkins in Europe.
