Description: King Saul wants David dead but has failed to get him killed on the battlefield. In his madness, Saul throws a spear at David while he plays the lute for the king. David runs for his life and finds refuge with Samuel the prophet. King Saul sends an army unit to the chapel where Samuel meets with a group of priests. The soldiers are unable to arrest David, and in the end King Saul himself rides out to meet with Samuel and to take David prisoner, or so he hopes. However, the king's military strength is ineffective against Samuel's spiritual power. Still on the run, David decides to seek refuge with a neighboring king, hoping he will not be recognized. When he does get recognized, he pretends to be mad and is thrown out as a result. Back in Canaan, David knows that the king's men are closing in on him.
